Due to traffic jams there however, Sonic and his crew had to a Star Post to access the Special Zone to make a shortcut through Casino Night Zone. The Casino Night Zone was later made one of the locations the racers in the Mobius 5000 had to drive through. Regardless, Robotnik kidnapped the betting Mobians, making Sonic set off to rescue them. Sonic subsequently freed Tails and won the race. During the race however, Grounder told Sonic that Tails was being held in a dungeon outside the stadium. To get Tails back, Sonic had to race against Grounder in Casino Night Zone's stadium and lose, so the betting Mobians would lose their earnings and become Robotnik's slaves. However, when Sonic returned to the Casino Robotnik, he only found Smiley at the local pool, who told him that Tails had been captured by Robotnik. Sonic then disguised himself as a ringmaster and tricked Scratch and Grounder into pulling the lever, thereby making the dam flow again, with Scratch and Grounder being pulled along with the released water. There, he shot down the water flow with a lever and converted the latter into a slot machine. Eventually, Sonic made it to the local dam. Meanwhile, Sonic had left Tails in the Casino Nursery. After the sheep had won a large sum of money, Sonic revealed himself to Scratch and Grounder, and the duo began chasing him after him. With access to the controls now, Sonic reprogrammed the gambling machines to ensure that the sheep won every game they played. Disguised as a mechanic, Sonic tricked Scratch and Grounder into handing the keys to the casino's gambling machine controls over to him. Fortunately, Sonic and Tails arrived in Casino Night Zone in the meantime. There, the sheep lost most of the games and their possessions to gambling, before getting their last chance to get their money back at the wheel of fortune. Shortly after the city was opened, Smiley delivered a group of sheep to the Casino Night Zone's casino. Robotnik once sent Scratch and Grounder to open Casino Night Zone, something which the doctor had invested a billion Mobiums in and made it a top priority. Casino Robotnik also features a swimming pool and a playroom for children.

However, all the casino games are controlled by a computer system that manipulates the outcome of the gambling machines. Inside Casino Robotnik itself are various slot machines, roulettes, and wheels of fortune. There are many other establishments in the vicinity of this casino, including a dam that holds water, and a racing stadium. The Casino Night Zone also has a large blue building with the sign 'Casino Robotnik' placed above the entrance.
